A 20-character global ID required for large borrowers and large-value payments in India.
What is LEI (Legal Entity Identifier)?
A Legal Entity Identifier uniquely identifies a legal entity in financial transactions worldwide. The RBI requires non-individual borrowers with aggregate bank exposure of ₹5 crore and above to obtain one, as well as entities making RTGS/NEFT payments of ₹50 crore and above and cross-border capital or current account transactions of ₹50 crore and above.
