LMPC Registration (Legal Metrology) — Meaning
Registration for manufacturers, packers and importers of pre-packaged goods, with mandatory label declarations.
What is LMPC Registration (Legal Metrology)?
Under Rule 27 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, manufacturers, packers and importers of pre-packaged commodities register with the legal metrology authority, and every package must carry mandatory declarations — including the name and address of the manufacturer, packer or importer, net quantity, month and year of manufacture, MRP and consumer-care details. E-commerce listings must show the same declarations.
