About 12A 80G Registration
A clear overview, in simple terms — what it is, why it matters, and how we handle it.
Trusts, societies and Section 8 companies get income-tax exemption by registering under Section 12A/12AB and let donors claim deductions by getting 80G approval. New NGOs apply in Form 10A for provisional registration valid for three years, then in Form 10AB for regular registration — five years, or ten years for NGOs with income up to ₹5 crore. Donations must be reported each year in Form 10BD.
Missing the window to move from provisional to regular registration — or not filing Form 10BD — means losing exemption or donor deductions. We file the applications, track renewals and handle annual donor reporting.
| Provisional | Form 10A; valid 3 years |
|---|---|
| Regular | Form 10AB; 5 years, or 10 years if income ≤ ₹5 crore (Finance Act 2025) |
| Donor deduction | 80G approval; certificates in Form 10BE |
| Annual reporting | Form 10BD statement of donations |
