About Basic ITR Filing
A clear overview, in simple terms — what it is, why it matters, and how we handle it.
ITR-1 (Sahaj) is for resident individuals with total income up to ₹50 lakh from salary or pension, house property and other sources such as interest, plus listed-equity long-term gains up to ₹1.25 lakh. Under the new regime a salaried person pays no tax up to ₹12.75 lakh of salary after the ₹75,000 standard deduction and rebate. A CA-checked return catches Form 16 and AIS mismatches before they become notices.
Salaried returns look simple, which is why mistakes slip in: interest from savings and fixed deposits left out, a second employer's TDS missed, HRA claimed under the new regime, or a deduction claimed that the employer already gave. Each one is visible to the department through AIS.
We reconcile Form 16 with AIS and Form 26AS, add interest and other income, compare the old and new regimes with your actual deductions, and file the return you approve.
If your income has grown beyond ITR-1 — capital gains, foreign shares or RSUs, more complex property income — we tell you upfront and move you to the right form.
