About ITR Filing Advanced

A clear overview, in simple terms — what it is, why it matters, and how we handle it.

Quick answer

ITR-2 is the return for individuals and HUFs without business income whose situation goes beyond ITR-1: capital gains, more than the limited house-property income ITR-1 allows, foreign assets or income, unlisted shares, directorships, income above ₹50 lakh, or non-resident status. It carries extra schedules — capital gains, foreign assets (Schedule FA) and foreign tax credit — that must match the department's data.

ITR-2 is where most avoidable notices start: a capital gains schedule that doesn't match the broker statement, foreign shares or RSUs left out of Schedule FA, or a foreign tax credit claimed without filing Form 67 in time.

We build each schedule from source documents — broker and mutual fund statements, property deeds, foreign brokerage reports — reconcile them with AIS, and keep working papers so any question from the department can be answered quickly.

If you also have business or professional income, including F&O trading, the return moves to ITR-3; we'll tell you upfront.
