What it is and how we handle it

ITR-2 is where most avoidable notices start: a capital gains schedule that doesn't match the broker statement, foreign shares or RSUs left out of Schedule FA, or a foreign tax credit claimed without filing Form 67 in time.

We build each schedule from source documents — broker and mutual fund statements, property deeds, foreign brokerage reports — reconcile them with AIS, and keep working papers so any question from the department can be answered quickly.

If you also have business or professional income, including F&O trading, the return moves to ITR-3; we'll tell you upfront.

FAQs

Common questions for ITR Filing Advanced in Goa.

Search FAQs
3 results.
Do I need to report foreign shares or RSUs if I didn't sell them?
Yes. Residents must report foreign assets held at any time during the calendar year in Schedule FA, whether or not they were sold. Small financial holdings up to ₹20 lakh no longer attract the Black Money Act penalty, but reporting is still required.
What is Form 67?
The form to claim credit for tax paid abroad, such as US tax withheld on dividends. It must be filed before the income-tax return; otherwise the credit can be denied.
Is ITR-2 different for NRIs?
NRIs use ITR-2 (or ITR-3 with business income) and report only Indian income, with residency details. Our NRI ITR service handles DTAA claims and refunds.
