Full Definition
Form 26AS (Annual Information Statement) is a consolidated tax statement linked to your PAN. It shows: TDS deducted by employers, banks, tenants, buyers; TCS collected; advance tax and self-assessment tax paid; high-value transactions reported by banks and registrars; refunds issued; and tax demand/paid details. Since FY 2020-21, the AIS (Annual Information Statement) provides a more comprehensive view. Form 26AS is accessible at traces.gov.in and the income tax e-filing portal.
