# FSSAI Labelling Compliance

> Packaged food sold in India must carry the declarations required by the FSS (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020 — product name, ingredients, nutrition information, veg/non-veg symbol, allergens, net quantity, date marking, batch number, the FSSAI logo and licence number, and the manufacturer's or importer's name and address — along with Legal Metrology declarations such as MRP.

Practice: FSSAI Food Licence — https://www.industax.com/services/fssai/

Labels are where most FSSAI enforcement starts: a missing allergen declaration, a wrong category name or an unsupported health claim can lead to an improvement notice, seizure or penalty for misbranding.

We review artwork before printing against the labelling regulations, the product's food standard and the advertising and claims regulations, and check that the FSSAI licence number on the label is the one that actually covers the product.

Imported food needs the same declarations in English (or Hindi) — usually applied by sticker before customs clearance — plus the importer's details and country of origin.
