# FSSAI Food Licence & Registration Services

> Every food business operator in India — manufacturers, restaurants, cloud kitchens, traders, importers, exporters and e-commerce sellers — needs FSSAI registration or a licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. From 1 April 2026 the tiers are basic registration up to ₹1.5 crore turnover, a state licence from ₹1.5 crore to ₹50 crore, and a central licence above ₹50 crore or for activities such as import and export.

## FAQs

### What are the FSSAI licence limits in 2026?

From 1 April 2026: basic registration for turnover up to ₹1.5 crore (₹100 a year), state licence above ₹1.5 crore up to ₹50 crore (₹2,000–₹5,000 a year depending on activity), and central licence above ₹50 crore (₹7,500 a year). Importers and certain other activities need a central licence regardless of turnover.

### Do FSSAI licences still need renewal?

FSSAI's 2026 reforms moved licences to continuing validity linked to payment of the annual fee — non-payment suspends the licence. Check your licence's status on FoSCoS; we track the annual fee and returns so the licence never lapses.
